CHAIRMAN

 
Stephen Thompson - Chairman
Stephen Thompson
At the age of 42, Stephen Thompson was appointed Chairman of Dundee United in November 2008, having served as Chief Executive since January 2008.

Stephen first attended a United match at the age of four and has followed the team over the years across Europe and Scotland. He joined the Board of Dundee United in September 2002 and was also Marketing Director at Morning, Noon & Night before its sale to Scotmid in 2004. His knowledge and experience were put to good effect in the Club’s marketing, commercial and retail areas.

As Chairman, Stephen will also undertake the duties of Chief Executive, a post which no longer exists as a separate position on the Board.

VICE CHAIR

 
Cath Thompson - Vice Chair
Mrs Cath Thompson
Cath Thompson, wife of the former Chairman, the late Eddie Thompson, was appointed Vice Chair on 14 November 2008.

Mrs Thompson is the majority shareholder in Dundee United FC and was first appointed to the Board in January 2008.

A former Executive of Morning, Noon & Night, Mrs Thompson has, with her late husband, followed United for over 40 years and is proud to carry on the family tradition.

Gibby Haggart
Gibby Haggart
Gibby joined the Board of Directors of Dundee United in January 2002, following in the footsteps of his father-in-law, George Fox, the former Chairman of the Club. Following the transfer of ownership to Eddie Thompson, Gibby retained his place on the Board with specific responsibilities covering operations and administration.
 
Derek Robertson
Derek Robertson
Derek has been attending Tannadice since 1961 and has been involved in various supporters’ organisations in that time. His role as Communications Director at the Club involves dealing with both internal and external communications and liaising with supporters’ groups and regulatory bodies.


ASSOCIATE DIRECTORS

 
John Bennett - Associate Director
John Bennett
John Bennett returned to the Board as Associate Director in August 2009, less than a year after resigning to pursue other interests after his retiral from J&E Shepherd Chartered Surveyors. He was senior partner at J&E Shepherd and managed the firm, with over 30 branches operating throughout Scotland and England, until his retiral. He still acts for the firm on a consultancy basis and is a valuable addition to the Dundee United Board, with considerable business contacts both locally and nationally.
 
ArabTRUST - representative Mike Barile
Mike Barile
Mike Barile is a mathematics teacher at St Paul's Academy, Dundee. He is well-known by Dundee United supporters, being a founder member of Ferrari’s Supporters’ Club and past Chairman of the Federation of Dundee United Supporters’ Clubs. He also was actively involved in establishing ArabTRUST, the Dundee United Supporters’ Trust, and was elected its first Chairman in September 2003.
 
Spence Anderson - Associate Director, Company Secretary
Spence Anderson
Spence Anderson has been with the Club since 1990, undertaking a number of roles before being appointed Club Secretary in 2000. In 2002 he was appointed to the position of Company Secretary before becoming an Associate Director in 2005. In addition to his legal responsibilities as Company Secretary, Spence also has responsibility for football administration and ticketing.

KEY STAFF

 
Ron West - Stadium Manager
Ron West
Ron joined the Club in 1997 and is responsible for the overall maintenance of the stadium. In addition, he is Health & Safety Officer and is in charge of all day-to-day health & safety matters at the Club.
 
Dave Anderson - Operations Manager
Dave Anderson
Dave has been with the Club since 1995 and is responsible for the safety of all spectators on match days at Tannadice.

He is also responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Club's Safety Certificate which is granted currently by the Local Authority.
