CHAIRMAN

 
Stephen Thompson - Chairman
Stephen Thompson
At the age of 42, Stephen Thompson was appointed Chairman of Dundee United in November 2008, having served as Chief Executive since January 2008.

Stephen first attended a United match at the age of four and has followed the team over the years across Europe and Scotland. He joined the Board of Dundee United in September 2002 and was also Marketing Director at Morning, Noon & Night before its sale to Scotmid in 2004. His knowledge and experience were put to good effect in the Club’s marketing, commercial and retail areas.

As Chairman, Stephen also undertakes the duties of Chief Executive, a post which no longer exists as a separate position on the Board.

He is also currently member of the SPL Board and the SFA Council.

VICE CHAIR

 
Cath Thompson - Vice Chair
Mrs Cath Thompson
Cath Thompson, wife of the former Chairman, the late Eddie Thompson, was appointed Vice Chair on 14 November 2008.

Mrs Thompson is the majority shareholder in Dundee United FC and was first appointed to the Board in January 2008.

A former Executive of Morning, Noon & Night, Mrs Thompson has, with her late husband, followed United for over 40 years and is proud to carry on the family tradition.

Mike Martin
Mike Martin
Mike Martin is an executive with HSBC, the global banking group. He brings to the Board more than 30 years’ experience of working in a broad range of senior roles within the financial services industry. Edinburgh born and bred, he is a passionate and life-long Dundee United fan as well as a shareholder, season ticket holder and player sponsor.
 
Derek Robertson
Derek Robertson was an original member of the Board of Directors appointed by Eddie Thompson in 2002. As Director, Communications, his principal remit was to improve communications and dialogue with supporters.

A long term advocate of supporters’ rights, he took a leading role in establishing a supporters’ trust at Dundee United and as Director of Supporters Direct UK, in securing the support of the Scottish Parliament for funding the establishment of Supporters Direct in Scotland.

After an 18 month break, Derek agreed to re-join the Board of Dundee United in a non executive capacity in September 2012.

Spence Anderson - Associate Director, Company Secretary
Spence Anderson
Spence Anderson has been with the Club since 1990, undertaking a number of roles before being appointed Club Secretary in 2000. In 2002 he was appointed to the position of Company Secretary before becoming an Associate Director in 2005. In addition to his legal responsibilities as Company Secretary, Spence also has responsibility for football administration and ticketing.
 
Colin Stewart - Associate Director, ArabTRUST
Colin Stewart
Colin Stewart is the ArabTRUST's Associate Director representative on the board. Colin is a life long Dundee United fan. He joined the Dundee United Supporters' Society, more commonly known as ArabTRUST, in 2003 and was elected onto the board in 2005. During his time with the trust he has worked on fund raising projects to support both youth and community coaching initiatives at United. Colin is Principal Teacher of Music at St John's R.C. High School Dundee and is married with two children.
 
Stephen Bain - Associate Director
Stephen Bain
Stephen Bain was born and brought up in Dundee and studied Accountancy at the University of Dundee. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and is a Partner with Henderson Loggie, one of Scotland’s largest independent accountancy firms. He has been following United since the age of six and has been a season ticket holder for around 25 years and lives with his wife and four children in Broughty Ferry.
