AIRDRIE AFTERMATH

7th September 2000

Midfielder Jim Paterson could still recover in time to face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Saturday. The Under-21 international was carried off in the CIS Cup tie against Airdrie on Tuesday night, when it was feared he had broken his leg for the second time in less than 12 months.

It transpired the problem was no more than severe bruising, but still left Paterson extremely doubtful for the weekend. He has been recovering well, though, and could still make Manager Alex Smith's line-up. Also back will be Craig Easton, who missed Tuesday night with a virus. He is training again and should make it.

After his impressive debut against Airdrie, teenager Kevin McDonald will be in the squad though may not start. "He did very well, particularly in the first half when he dictated a lot of the play, but it has been a big week for him, so I'll have to decide what's best for him on Saturday," explained Alex.
