United defender Jim Paterson could miss this weekend's Tannadice date with St Mirren after taking another knock on the leg he broke last November. The Under-21 star was carried off in last Tuesday's CIS Cup win over Airdrie after a tackle on the leg, but made a remarkable recovery in time to face Kilmarnock on Saturday.
Lightning struck again though, and Paterson was missing on Monday morning when the squad started the build-up to the Buddies clash. "It's another knock in the same place where the leg break was, so we'll have to be careful with Jim," reported boss Alex Smith. "He'll miss training for a few days and Saturday could be a problem for him."
