SPECULATION UNFAIR TO FANS - STURROCK

2nd June 2000

Paul Sturrock is bidding to silence all speculation regarding summer arrivals at Tannadice Park. Numerous targets have been bandied around during the past week or so, some of which have had a ring of truth attached-while others were simply dreamed up by interested parties.

The United boss feels that it's the Tangerines support who suffer most from the often-wildly innacurate rumours. He said,"I have no wish for our fans to be disillusioned over an ever-growing list of supposed targets. No one is attempting to hide from the fact that we are seeking to add to the playing staff. And we have contacted a large number of people. However, there is no point in admitting to every contact made. That would only serve to build up false hopes amongst those fans".
