WORRELL’S BAD LUCK CONTINUES

1st August 2000

Over the summer, David Worrell suffered a recurrence of the knee injury which kept him out for much of last season but after seeing a specialist the former Blackburn Rovers defender had hoped for a return to training by the start of this campaign. However, the ex-Republic of Ireland under 21 skipper has now been told he needs further rest. Boss Paul Sturrock said, "David won't be able to train for at least another two weeks. He's been so unlucky but just has to try to be patient." Worrell's getting to know new signing Danny Griffin well - they meet up every day in the treatment room!
