UNITED LINKED WITH DARREN JACKSON MOVE

United were being strongly linked with former player Darren Jackson on Tuesday, but Manager Alex Smith was sticking to Club policy and not getting dragged into transfer speculation before any deal was done.

Alex confirmed Jackson has been enquired about before this season, but would not comment on any future developments. Jackson was a big hit with the United faithful when he joined up from Newcastle late in the eighties.
