VIRUS CONCERN - FIVE SENT HOME

6th October 2000

A slightly concerning virus is doing the rounds at Tannadice right now. John Blackley, who is overseeing team matters while Alex Smith and Maurice Malpas are away with Scotland Under-21s, has had to send home five first team players, as a precaution. Those effected are skipper Jason de Vos, French midfielder Joachim Fernandez and strikers Stephen McConalogue, Alphonse Tchami, and Jim Hamilton.

Blackley said, "It's maybe just as well we don't have a competitive game this weekend." "Those laid low by the virus have been sent home, but those who are healthy have done very well in training."
