SEAN SHINES FOR UNDER 21'S

21st November 2000

Teenage winger Sean O'Connor's fine form in the Under-21 side could earn him a call-up to the first team this weekend. The 19-year-old former Hednesford attacker showed up well in Monday night's 1-1 draw with St Johnstone at Tannadice and Manager Alex Smith admitted he is in the picture for the visit of Dunfermline on Saturday.

"Sean still has a lot to learn, but he has been making very good progress and but for a groin injury might have featured in the first team in the last couple of games," said Alex on Tuesday. "He came here as a through the middle player, but we have used him a lot on the wing. He's over six foot and that makes him unorthodox, but he gives us something different and that is what he needs."
