JOAQUIM PAYS THE PRICE

8th May 2000

United manager Paul Sturrock has discplined striker Joaquim Ferraz after his red card in Saturday's derby against Dundee at Dens Park.
The Portuguese striker was sent off just a minute before half time after a clash with Dundee defender Lee Wilkie.

Before then Ferraz had been looking dangerous and the manager was in no doubt that his mistake was a costly one. "I spoke to Quim after the match on Saturday and I've had another word with him and the matter is being dealt with internally," says Paul.

Ferraz will now miss Saturday's clash with Motherwell at Tannadice through suspension.

Midfielder Craig Easton could also be out of that one after taking a knock at Dens and will be having treatment over the next few days in a bid to get him fit.
