DISAPPOINTMENT FOR TEN-MAN UNITED

4th November 2000

For the third time in the last four matches United gave a battling performance which deserved some reward.

There were impressive debuts by Alberto Naveda and Charlie Miller as United more than matched their hosts despite being down to ten men from the 27th minute when Jim Lauchlan was sent off.

United's sole counter from Naveda in the 56th minute was insufficient to cancel out goals from Motherwell in the 44th and 51st minutes but there were more encouraging signs and the commitment and the desire to win was obvious.
