French midfielder Joaquim Fernandez looks poised to become the club's latest capture.
Although manager Paul Sturrock remains guarded on the subject of a signing, he has confirmed an obvious interest in a player who was involved in a testimonial match incident with Paul Gascoigne on Tuesday.
The 27-year old had returned to French football after spells with both Udinese and AC Milan in Serie A, and has become available under the Bosman ruling.
