Dev League: St Mirren 2 United 1

30th January 2017

St Mirren came from behind to win by the odd goal in three at tonight's Development League clash at the Paisley 2021 Stadium. Having deservedly taken the lead after 17 minutes, when Ali Coote drilled home a deflected effort from 18-yards, the Tangerines looked on course for victory. But lacking a cutting edge, they failed to capitalise on having the bulk of possession. Although Saints assumed control after the break, United had a great chance to put the game to bed 20 minutes from time when Appéré fired a Charlie Telfer cut-back narrowly wide. They paid for that miss five minutes later when Josh Todd fired home the equaliser from just inside the box. And four minutes from the end, the same player slotted home a cross from the right at the back post for the winner. Team: J Donaldson, Davie, C Donaldson, Robson, Dailly, Allardice, B Smith, Telfer, Taylor, Coote, Appéré. Subs not used: Reekie, Hornby, Ritchie, Chalmers, Mcmeekin.
