Dev League: Rangers 2 Dundee United 1

14th February 2017

Having taken the lead, the Young Terrors were defeated by two Rangers penalties at Forthbank, Stirling, tonight. By Peter Rundo The Tangerines started brightly and deservedly went ahead on ten minutes. Good lead up work by Ali Coote saw him clip the ball to Scott Allardice whose low driven cross was squeezed home at the near post by Graham Taylor. But on 28 minutes, Rangers equalised from the spot. United keeper Brett Long did brilliantly to claw away Dodoo’ downward header, but as the ball ran loose, Allardice conceded a soft looking penalty which Dodoo converted. As they did at the start, United opened the second well with Logan Davie firing narrowly wide. However, the visitors fell behind from a second penalty on 65 minutes. This time,  Jamie Robson was adjudged to have brought down Harry Forrester just inside the box, and again Dodoo did the needful from 12 yards. Dundee United: Long, Ballantyne, Reekie, Robson, Hornby, Allardice, Davie, Trialist (Appere 70), B Smith, Taylor, Coote. Subs not used: J Donaldson, Ritchie, Chalmers, Davidson, Robb.
