Dundee United announced on Friday, the loan signing of 19-year-old Southampton goalkeeper Harry Lewis on a one-year deal. The 6ft 3 stopper has earned rave reviews for his performances for the Under-18s,Under-21s and Under 23s and has appeared three times for the first-team at Southampton. He has also represented England internationally at youth level. Harry joined the Saints from his home town club Shrewsbury Town for a six-figure fee in 2015 and yesterday signed a new three-year-deal with Saints. He joins United expected to challenge for the number one jersey at the Club. Harry said, "I am keen to get started here at United. I am excited at the prospect of being involved in first team football for this Club and hope to show my ability at this level. "I believe I am joining a winning team that will be challenging at the top of the league and want to play my part in helping the Club secure the title." Manager Ray McKinnon said, "Harry comes here as one of the top young goalkeeping prospects in English football. I am delighted to bring him to United and I expect him to challenge for the starting position. "It says so much about his ambition and desire that he has chosen to come up to Scotland to get first team involvement. It is a coup for us to bring him to Tannadice and I am positive we will hear much more about him during his career." Harry becomes the eighth summer signing brought to the Club by Manager Ray McKinnon. He joins James Keatings, Billy King, Thomas Scobbie, Paul McMullan, Patrick N'Koyi, Jordie Briels and fellow goalkeeper Deniz. United fans have purchased over 4,000 season tickets a full three weeks ahead of the league campaign starting on Saturday, 5 August.
