Dev League: United 2 Hibs 2

20th November 2017

On a miserably wet evening at Links Park, Dundee United and Hibs served up an entertaining encounter which ended with honours even.

Hibs dominated the early stages and went ahead after nine minutes, Ryan Porteous glancing home a header from a Fraser Murray corner.

Ten minutes from the interval, United brought on Dom Mcmeekin for Kieran Inglis and were level six minutes later.

Matty Smith burst into the box and fired home from 15 yards.

Two minutes from the interval, the Tangerines were close to going in front.

Logan Chalmers fired in a free kick which Hibs keeper Maciej Dabronski just kept out with one hand.

But the home side did take the lead within a minute of the restart.

Chalmers laid the ball across the face of the goal and Mcmeekin first timed the ball past the keeper from 12 yards.

William Edjenguele had the ball in the net after 55 minutes but it was ruled offside.

Hibs hit back on 65 minutes when Olly Shaw drilled home the equaliser from an acute angle.

And the visitors were denied a third midway through the second half thanks to Jordan Hornby’s goal-line clearance.

Four minutes later, a fine stop by Josh Donaldson kept out a Jamie Gullan strike.

Both teams went in search of the winner with Dabronski palming an Archie Thomas effort round the post.

Dundee United: Donaldson, Davidson, Hornby, Edjenguele, Bollan, Thomas, Chalmers, Dailly, M Smith, Inglis (Mcmeekin 35), Appere.
