BOARDROOM CHANGES AT TANNADICE

15th December 2017

Dundee United announced today the appointment of two new board members alongside one board member standing down.

Joining the board of directors at Tannadice are ex-Dundee City Council Chief Executive David Dorward and local businessman Jimmy Fyffe.

David Dorward spent just under twenty years at Dundee City Council - fifteen as Director of Finance and five as Chief Executive and brings a wealth of experience to the Tannadice boardroom. He served in local government in various high-profile capacities for 43 years. A keen United supporter, he is a founding member of ArabTRUST and also a United representative as Chairman of charity Dundee United Community Trust. David accepted an Associate Director’s role at the Club in June 2016.

Jimmy Fyffe has sponsored Dundee United’s kits through his successful local-based wholesale and public bar company JF-Kegs for four years and has been a sponsor of the Club for almost ten years. Jimmy worked previously in NCR before starting JF-Kegs in 2002, building it into the remarkable success it is today. He brings great business acumen to the board. Jimmy’s passion for United is well known and he enjoyes attending games with his family.

Today also sees the end of Corporate Lawyer David McGrory’s involvement in the boardroom at Tannadice as he steps down due to business commitments.

Chairman Stephen Thompson said, “The Club has been looking for fresh talent and expertise at boardroom level and I am delighted that both David and Jimmy will join the board here at Tannadice. Both are strong-minded, business orientated, passionate United fans. They will add a lot of experience and knowledge to the board. David has been an associate director and has already shown his value and Jimmy has impressed me in his business dealings and discussions.

“David McGrory has served with distinction in his three years at the Club. He came on board at a time of much structural change and his experience proved invaluable. I and the rest of the board want to thank David for his efforts on behalf of the Club.”
