TANNADICE SURFACE VOTED THE BEST IN CHAMPIONSHIP

4th June 2018

Tannadice Park has been voted the best pitch in the Ladbrokes Championship - and fifth best in Scotland - in a PFA/Scottish FA and Sports Labs season-long study.

Throughout the 2017/18 season, players at all 42 clubs were asked to rate the pitch they played on every time they were away from home via a specially commissioned PitchRater App.

More than 43,000 answers were received, and Stirling Albion's Forthbank pitch was voted the best in Scotland with United's Tannadice Park voted the fifth best.

The Tannadice surface was voted the finest in the Ladbrokes Championship with a 4.12 rating (five is very good and one is very poor) and was the only Championship stadium to secure over four in the study, with the Paisley 2021 Stadium (3.88) and East End Park (3.86) the closest challengers.

David Southern, General Manager, said: "Dundee United is proud that the pitch has been voted the best in the Championship and fifth best in Scotland. The is a testament to the hard work done by Billy Milton and his groundstaff.

"Managers and players always want the best possible surface to play football on and Billy and his team have delivered a terrific surface this season and should be proud of the achievement. But the hard work won’t stop as this close season the Board have invested once again in the playing surface as we continue to improve the club on and off the pitch.”
