WestEnd Flooring Sponsors DUYDB

26th September 2018

Ahead of Saturday's awareness-raising event at the Dundee United v Ross County fixture, Dundee United Youth Development Board (DUYDB) are delighted to announce WestEnd Flooring as the primary sponsor of DUYDB for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.

DUYDB representative Eric Baillie (DUDA)  and Academy Coach Niall Nicolson joined WestEnd Flooring's owner Tony Kierans at Tannadice today to finalise the deal alongside United legends John Holt, Hamish McAlpine, Davie Dodds and Paul Hegarty.

This coming Saturday will see a half-time youth parade including players from the various levels of the Youth Academy, coaches and Club ambassadors whilst DUYDB representatives will be around to provide information and facilitate sign-ups for interested supporters.

Already, DUYDB has donated over £60,000 to fund the Academy's Head of Sports Science and Medicine post along with financial support for various projects including trips to prestigious tournaments, vital equipment and kit and most recently have furnished equipment for an on-site gym for the Youth Academy.

DUYDB are committed to working with the Club to achieve Elite Status in the Scottish FA's Project Brave youth football project and want members to sign up and have a direct impact on funding the Youth Academy.

DUYDB Chairman Jim Laing said, "I must thank WestEnd Flooring for their very generous sponsorship, it is very much appreciated. In the 18 months since we formed, we have raised and invested over £60,000 into Youth Academy projects decided on by our board.

"We believe that the future for Dundee United will benefit from the club achieving Elite Status within Project Brave and we are committed to helping. Saturday is about making people aware of who we are and what we do and - more importantly - how they can play a part."

Dundee United Chairman Mike Martin said, "The Club wants to achieve Elite Status, and I am delighted that DUYDB has agreed to work with the Club to achieve our objective. Their contributions so far have helped the Youth Academy greatly, and I thank them for their continued support."

All adult United supporters attending the match versus Ross County on Saturday should receive an info leaflet with a sign-up form and will also get a free 50/50 ticket upon entry to the home stands. At half-time, Club ambassadors, youth coaches and youth players will perform a parade around the pitch.
