GABLE ENDIES SEEK UNDERSTANDING FROM LOCALS OVER CUP CROWDS

18th January 2019

Statement from Montrose FC

With more than 3,000 fans expected to descend on Links Park this Saturday for the Scottish Cup 4th Round match between Montrose and Dundee Utd, the Club are appealing for understanding from local residents for any inconvenience this may cause.

Club Chairman John Crawford explained, “This is obviously a much bigger crowd than normal and as we expect a lot of people to travel by car, the streets in and around the ground are set to be extremely busy in the built up to kick off at 3pm and after the match at 5pm.

“Segregation will be in place which means Montrose fans will enter Links Park by the usual turnstiles on Wellington Street, with the Dundee United support using the Away turnstiles in Union Row.

“We have advised bus companies to park in the mid-Links area, allowing fans access to the Away turnstiles via Union Street.

“Both car parks at Links Park will be for Players and Officials only and so we would urge supporters to consider parking a bit further from the ground than normal to ease congestion.

“Our fans and the whole of the local community have provided us with great support in recent years and this big game is just another reward for what we have collectively achieved since Stewart Petrie arrived as Manager back in December 2016.

“I can only apologise in advance to local residents for any inconvenience this will cause on Saturday but hope they understand the situation and appreciate we have done all we can to minimise the impact.”

Fans are reminded that the match is an all-ticket affair and Montrose fans can get theirs from the Club Office at Links Park, Mon-Fri from 10am to 4pm. Additionally, tickets will be on sale at the stadium in the Willie Johnston Lounge on Tue (15th) and Thu (17th) evenings from 6pm to 8pm. Tickets for the Bryan Keith Stand are Adult £20, Concessions £10 and Terrace Tickets are Adult £18, Concessions £9.
