SCOTT BANKS A HAT-TRICK AS U18S WIN 6-1

28th January 2019

The Under 18s were up against Fife Elite in a rearranged CAS League fixture on Friday night.

In a first half that witnessed both teams struggle to gain control, Fife Elite took the lead in the 20th minute after United failed to clear a free-kick. Banks grabbed his first with a sharp finish in the 32nd minute to ensure parity at half-time.

United started the second half on the front foot, and Lewis Fraser stabbed home to put the Tangerines ahead. In 64 minutes, it was 3-1 to United after Robert Ward finished off a smart counter-attack. United increased their lead in 72 minutes when they were awarded a penalty for a clumsy challenge on Ross Graham. Scott Banks converted from the spot.

Just two minutes later, it was 5-1 with Robert Ward finishing off a Banks cross. The scoring was completed alongside Banks's hat-trick when the attacker scored following good play by Lewis Fraser.
