SENTIMENTAL TANNADICE JOURNEY

4th October 2019

Sheffield-based Neil Wardrope and his wife visited Tannadice this week in memory of his great-great-uncle, the United legend Jimmy Brownlie.

Enjoying a tour of the ground, he was amazed by how much it had changed since he visited 50 years ago in the company of his great-great-uncle.

Neil brought with him one of Jimmy’s Scotland caps and was delighted to see another one along with the Scotland strip that is on permanent display in the United in Memories exhibition. He was particularly chuffed to see the name of Brownlie appear three times in the list of Dundee United managers.

Having a pretty sound knowledge of his great-great-uncle’s important contribution to establishing the Club, he was intrigued to learn of its more recent history and successes and has promised to take a closer interest in all things tangerine.
