CHAIRMAN MEETS SCULPTOR ALAN HERRIOT

31st October 2019

Chairman Mark Ogren met Jim McLean Tribute Group Chairman George Haggarty and sculptor Alan Herriot before the recent Dunfermline game. The craftsman detailed the process of creating the maquette currently on display and the final statue that he is now preparing.

The Chairman said, "It was a pleasure to meet Alan and George on Saturday, and it was fascinating to hear his vision and process for the final statue. The achievement of securing most of the funding for the statue highlights once again the generosity and passion of the United support, and I look forward to hearing in the near future that the final total has been achieved."

The Jim McLean Tribute Group was set up by supporters to raise funds for the statue under the auspices of the Dundee United Community Trust. It is hoped that the statue will be installed at Tannadice Park sometime in May 2020.
