HAPPY 97TH BIRTHDAY, GEORGE!

4th November 2019

United season ticket holder George Morris turned 97 years young today and he had a surprise visitor arrive at his home in Dundee's Craigie area.

Goalkeeper Benji Siegrist turned up and showed off the safe pair of hands that have claimed three clean sheets in a week by handing over a United birthday cake to George.

George who still comes to every home game at Tannadice has been a season ticket holder for at least 40 years and currently sits in the George Fox Lower Stand.

George said, "I was delighted to meet Benji. I still go to Tannadice for every game but I will not be at Dens on Friday as I don't like going to Dens in the dark. I was at the War Cup final in 1940 and I loved all the European nights. United is a wonderful family club and it was always the Club for me."

Benji said, "Meeting George was a pleasure. It is amazing to think he has watched so many different players over the years and he clearly knows his football. To listen to him reminisce about United teams and victories was very enjoyable and I was happy to take the birthday cake to him today. Hopefully, we can bring him more great memories in the near future."

George has been invited to attend the Hegarty Suite on Friday night and watch the game alongside Club legends and fellow Arabs.
