Dundee United Football Club is pleased to confirm the signing of Danny Griffin (22) from St Johnstone Football Club on a three-year contract.
Manager Paul Sturrock commented : "I'm very pleased Danny is finally on board and I'm looking for him to be as big a hit here as he was with me at Saints. He is a very talented centre-half and I believe he will do a good job for us. In the last couple of years a string of English Premiership clubs have wanted him and there has also been interest from abroad and you don't get that with bad players."
"We are delighted he has decided to come here instead of taking up other offers and he will fill an important role for us. I want Danny to form a solid central defensive partnership with skipper Jason de Vos - but he'll also provide the kind of experience we need when Jason is away on World Cup duty with Canada."
