DUNDEE UNITED SUPPORTS MARIE CURIE #HAIRFORHEROES CAMPAIGN

31st March 2020

Dundee United is proud to support Marie Curie’s #HairForHeroes campaign.

The campaign is encouraging people to support the Marie Curie network of nurses in an effort to alleviate the strain on the NHS at this time of much demand.

Marie Curie is scaling up services to reduce the pressure on the NHS and is reliant on donations from the public. £2.5 million is needed weekly to care for tens of thousands of people who require nursing and hospice care - at a time when all their shops have been closed and events have been cancelled due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The campaign focuses on encouraging people to donate the price of your haircut, leg (or back) wax, beard trim - or whatever you would have paid for a hair removal service to Marie Curie's emergency appeal.

All over the country people are either shaving their hair off or letting the colour grow out. If you do so, take a photo or video of before, during and after and share your pictures/video on social media using the hashtag #HairForHeroes and tag Marie Curie while nominate three others to do likewise.

Managing Director Mal Brannigan said, “We are delighted to support Marie Curie, particularly at a time when the NHS is feeling the demands of the COVID-19 pandemic. The efforts of both the Marie Curie nurses and the wider medical community are greatly appreciated by all at Dundee United.

“We will continue to support causes and charities that help make a difference to lives. It would be great if this campaign was picked up by others in the football community and beyond.”

Let's be United and support Marie Curie and help them to act fast now, to do more for terminally ill patients, families and the NHS today.
