GRAEME HART APPOINTED DUWFC HEAD COACH

29th September 2021

Dundee United Women’s Football Club (DUWFC) are delighted to announce the permanent appointment of Graeme Hart as their Head Coach.

Following Gavin Beith’s resignation in July, Graeme has been in interim charge and can now officially be confirmed as Head Coach after a terrific start to his managerial career at DUWFC.

With six wins, one draw and one defeat, albeit against a very strong Hibernian side, the side have got off to a great start in their 2021/22 campaign as they top the Scottish Women’s Premier League Two and hold a place in the quarter finals of the SWPL Cup.

Hart was delighted to be named Head Coach after his two months in interim charge, and feels having been at the Club as assistant under the previous regime means he knows each player’s abilities.

“I am honoured and privileged to get the opportunity to be in charge of a great group of players.

“Being here under Gavin helped getting off to a good start as it didn’t take time to find o1ut who is who and their strengths.

“Continuing our current unbeaten run is certainly the plan; we have had a great start and that is down to the girls’ hard work and dedication during these times. They have been fantastic during this transition and hopefully the results stay as good as they have been.

“I’d also like to thank the Dundee United Community Trust and everyone else involved for giving me the opportunity.”

Captain Megan Burns also reacted to the news that Hart was named permanent Head Coach, “We are all delighted with the appointment. Back in July, it kept our minds at ease finding out that he was going to step in when Gavin left. The last thing you want is big changes that close to the new season so we were all glad to find out that it was Graeme.

“He has worked with some of us for a few years now and we were pleased to find out that he was given the role permanently.”

Hart’s current backroom staff will also continue in their roles, with goalkeeping coach Fraser Reid and head physio Mark Dryden. He hopes to be in a position to announce two new coaching additions over the coming weeks.
