OUR ACADEMY 4V4 FESTIVAL AN UNPRECEDENTED SUCCESS

7th December 2021

On Sunday, Our Academy welcomed more than 200 promising young players from 42 teams across Dundee, Perth, Aberdeen, Angus, Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow to the Regional Performance Centre for our first ever 4v4 festival for the 2014s age group.

The festival is part of our initiative to support and educate grassroots coaches and players as they form the basis of our footballing eco-system, and we always strive to give back more than we recieve from the clubs involved.

Pre-Academy Manager Scott Madden, who oversaw the running of the festival, gave his thoughts on a successful afternoon. "As a club we are committed to supporting grassroots football and Sunday's festival was another one of our new initiatives with this in mind. I have been delighted with the response from clubs across Scotland and it was great to see more than 200 players taking part across the three festivals."

"Our aim was to create a positive and fun environment where kids could express themselves freely and compete against teams from outwith their own local authority areas to provide new experiences for them and their coaches. This is the first festival we have delivered of this size and feedback from clubs, players and parents so far has been really positive.

"This festival follows on from our new 5v5 Friday night festivals, in house coach education and grassroots club visits all with the view of supporting the delivery of football across Scotland and enhancing the good work already being delivered"

"I am looking forward to delivering more festivals in the near future for more age groups"

Our Academy would like to express our gratitude to all the clubs, parents, coaches, players and RPC staff who helped make the event possible.
