‘TOMMO’ AND ‘COMBER’ INJURIES NOT SERIOUS

20th July 2000

Manager Paul Sturrock insists that although striker Steven Thompson and 'keeper Alan Combe were missing from the friendly against Forfar (Thursday night) it has only been a precaution - neither are badly injured. Said Sturrock,"Tommo has pulled his hamstring a bit, while Comber has hurt his back. Neither injury is too serious - both should be ok for Saturday's trip to Brechin." The search for new talent continues, with the manager keeping tabs on several trialists. But negotiations for players takes much longer to conclude these days. " I remain confident that more new players will come to Tannadice, but it may be into the new season before deals are concluded," he added.
