Merghem heads to Tannadice

Dundee United are excited to announce Young Terrors star Nairn Reynolds has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with the club ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The 16-year-old, who spent his early years with local boys club Ferry Athletic, will continue his journey with the club until at least the summer of 2027.
After entering our youth system aged just seven, Reynolds progressed through the levels at Foundation Park, regularly battling with elite-level opposition such as Sporting Lisbon, Juventus and Liverpool through our additional games programme.
In May 2024, the budding defender led Baldragon Academy’s U16s to Schools’ Scottish Cup glory alongside fellow United prospects Calvin Beattie, Jamie Forrest and Jack Anderson.
Last term, Reynolds bravely battled back from a serious hip injury to marshall the backline line for our U18s following the turn of the year, and opened his CAS Under-18s Elite League account with a thumping header against Heart of Midlothian.

Academy Director, Scott Allison, expressed his satisfaction in securing the services of another talented homegrown player amidst strong interest from elsewhere, saying: “We’re delighted to have Nairn joining the club on a full-time basis, as he becomes the latest player to graduate from our Baldragon Academy programme into the senior pathway.
“Nairn will be joining our new professional development squad for the upcoming season, and we look forward to supporting his ongoing development across the next two years and beyond.”
