Dundee United have donated football strips to Academia Nova Esperança, a youth football academy based in Guinea-Bissau - set up by midfielder Pan Camará.

Academia Nova Esperança was founded in October 2022 by Pan Camará in Safim, around 10 kilometres from the capital city of Bissau, with training now taking place in the capital itself.

The academy was created to help children follow their dreams and avoid going down the wrong path, using football as a positive force for change. It currently supports more than 150 children, aged between 7 and 17, providing regular coaching, guidance and a safe environment for young people to develop both on and off the pitch.

Thanks to the donation, players at the academy will now be able to train and play in new strips, helping to instil pride, confidence and a sense of belonging amongst the young squads.

Speaking about the donation, Pan Camará said: "I created this academy to help children follow their dreams and avoid going down the wrong path. To receive this support from Dundee United means a great deal to the children and everyone involved with the academy."

The initiative highlights Dundee United’s ongoing commitment to using football to make a positive impact, with the club’s reach extending far beyond Tannadice through meaningful community support.
