Dundee United are delighted to confirm the extension of Sam Cleall-Harding’s contract, as the Academy graduate pens a new deal which will see him remain at Tannadice until at least the summer of 2029.
The budding defender enjoyed his first taste of regular first-team action for the Terrors throughout the second half of the 2024/25 campaign, as he found himself pitched into a breathless battle for European football.

Cleall-Harding was part of the backline which kept vital shutouts in 1-0 victories over Heart of Midlothian and St Johnstone respectively, before nodding home a first goal for his boyhood club against Rangers to bolster our goal difference heading into a final day New Firm showdown.
And on Matchday 38, the youngster rose to a momentous occasion, helping United stage a stunning second-half fightback as we punched our ticket to the UEFA Conference League Qualifiers.
After a summer of European adventures to the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Austria, Cleall-Harding opened his international account in dramatic fashion by grabbing a stoppage-time equaliser in Baku to keep Scotland’s UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification hopes alive.

This term, the Dundee-born stopper was named in the starting line-up for Scottish Cup triumphs over Ayr United and The Spartans as Jim Goodwin’s men edge towards a place at Hampden, whilst also making four top-flight appearances throughout the packed festive schedule.
Cleall-Harding, 19, now looks to add to his 2,500 minutes of senior experience by establishing himself as a mainstay within our rearguard throughout the forthcoming seasons.
'I'M EXCITED TO SEE WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS'

After inking his extension, Sam expressed his desire to succeed in the City of Discovery, saying: "I’m delighted to commit my future to the club I have supported my entire life - it’s a dream come true having the opportunity to represent Dundee United every week.
“I’m really grateful for the trust the Manager has placed in me - playing in the Scottish Premiership has really helped me develop. I want to repay the faith the club have shown me by becoming a valuable member of the squad.

"I’m excited to see what the future holds both for me personally and the club as a whole.”
