Dundee United Captain Ross Graham spoke to the broadcast media to preview our William Hill Premiership clash with St Mirren on Matchday 23.

The 25-year-old reflected on Saturday’s action in North Lanarkshire, emphasised the squad’s desire to show a positive reaction and discussed a hectic domestic schedule as the 2025/26 season races towards its conclusion.

ON A DISAPPOINTING AFTERNOON IN MOTHERWELL

I think there's positives you can take from every game. Apart from a softish penalty and then obviously a deflection for the second goal - we didn't do too much wrong in the game.

I'm not too sure you can put your finger on it and say exactly what it is. We give 100% effort in each game, we take all the instructions from the gaffer as well and we try to implement that as best as we can.

I'm sure it'll click sometime between now and the end of the season and we’re glad there's a game so soon after to hopefully bounce back with a victory.

ON A CHANCE TO GET BACK TO WINNING WAYS AGAINST THE BUDDIES

We all know what we're going to expect - it’s going to be a tough, physical game. They're a big, strong side but I’m always up for a physical battle against anyone.

It'll be huge if we go and get the win to take ourselves away from the teams at the bottom. That will be the main objective, to go and get the three points however we can.

We know how tight it is down the bottom half of the league we still want to try and catch Falkirk. If that's not possible then we'll try and be the best of the rest after that.

ON THE PREMIERSHIP FIXTURE PILE-UP

It's obviously been tough with the amount of games that have come in over the last few weeks. The boys have been great. We've kept ourselves relatively fresh going into every game and we've got a good squad there that the gaffer can change - we're never weaker than what we were in previous games.

As footballers we always love playing games - it's better than training really. That said, it'll be nice when it settles down and the midweek fixtures stop so we can get back on the training park a bit more and work on a few things.

With the games coming thick and fast, you've not really got much time to properly work on things on the training pitch. We've been doing the best we can and the boys have been taking a lot of information on board in such a short period of time.

Once we get beyond the game against St Mirren and then Friday night’s Quarter-Final at Falkirk, we'll get back to normal after that.
