Dundee United defender Iurie Iovu spoke to the broadcast media to preview our William Hill Premiership clash with Dundee on Matchday 30.
The Moldovan underlined his desire to emerge victorious on Derby Day as the City of Discovery prepares to divide for the third time this season.
ON DERBY DAY EXCITEMENT

We are very excited to play against Dundee - It's always a really intense game. It's important for us to win and to make the gap between ourselves and them bigger. We are well prepared, we’ll give everything and hopefully win.
Every game is important. We keep our focus game by game and try to take three points every week. I'm very excited for Sunday - the rivalry is incredible and it’s a match which sums up the beauty of football.
ON WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A FIERCELY-CONTESTED FIXTURE
We know they are a good team and we expect the game to be competitive with a lot of duels. Both derbies I’ve played in so far were intensive with high speed running and a lot of counter attacks.

We expect this game to be the same because it's a derby and it doesn't matter the form of the teams. It's always a great game to watch and to play in also.
ON BOUNCING BACK FROM SCOTTISH CUP DISAPPOINTMENT
In football, you have the opportunity to bounce back as fast as possible because we play every week and we need to try to go with a positive mindset. We can’t affect what happened in the previous game now or the form of our opposition.
On Derby Day, you have extra energy, the atmosphere is amazing and it's important to react the different situations you have to deal with on the day.
