Dundee United can today confirm Craig Sibbald has signed a pre-contract agreement with William Hill Premiership side Falkirk.
A contract offer reflective of our desire to retain the midfielder’s services was tabled to the player and his representatives.
However, the 30-year-old has opted to return to his boyhood club, eight years after intially leaving The Falkirk Stadium.
Since arriving at Tannadice in July 2022, Sibbald has been a pivotal cog in the tangerine wheel throughout his time in the City of Discovery.
The midfielder was influential in the engine room as the Terrors secured promotion back to the top-flight, taking home our 2023/24 Player of the Year Award in the process, and also played a key role in our return to the European stage last term.
To date, he has represented United on 132 occasions and netted 11 goals.
At the end of the 2025/26 campaign, Craig will leave the club with our sincere gratitude for his unwavering commitment and professionalism and also our best wishes for the future.
