Merghem heads to Tannadice

Dundee United are delighted to welcome the news that Jim Goodwin has been named as the Glen's Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month.
After toasting his three-year anniversary in the Tannadice hot-seat, the Irishman oversaw his first undefeated calendar month in the top-flight since November 2024.
March began with a hard-fought victory over St Mirren in the City of Discovery, with a late Amar Fatah spot-kick enough to dispatch the Buddies under the lights.
A bittersweet afternoon at Dens then saw a dominant United race into a two-goal lead in the Dundee Derby as flashes of our early-season promise returned. However, Goodwin’s charges had to content themselves with a point after a late fightback from the hosts.
Despite the disappointment, the Terrors picked themselves off the canvas to secure a record-breaking triumph over reigning Champions, Celtic, seven days later. Will Ferry’s first goal for the club preceeded Ghanaian starlet Emmanuel Agyei’s maiden professional strike as Martin O’Neill’s men were commandingly swept aside.
A triumph 35 years in the making, Goodwin became the first United boss to record consecutive home victories over the Hoops since the legendary Jim McLean during the 1990/91 campaign.
Only title-chasing Rangers could match a tally of seven Premiership points from three matches.

Upon recieving the trophy for the first time in his Managerial career, Goodwin stressed the importance of a collective effort, saying: “I’m delighted to accept this award - but I do so on behalf of my backroom team and the rest of our terrific staff.
“They work tirelessly behind the scenes on a daily basis all for the betterment of Dundee United - their efforts deserve as much recognition as my own when accolades such as these are handed out.
“Hopefully, our results in the league throughout March have helped restore some enthusiasm amongst our loyal fanbase. I’m glad we could bring them a couple of really positive performances to enjoy after a difficult period after the turn of the year."
He concluded: "Our target now is to finish the season as strongly as possible with six wins from our remaining games, before we turn our attention to the exciting, new season ahead.”
