Dundee United will travel south of the border to face SkyBet League Two side Salford City on Saturday 25th July, in a final dress rehearsal ahead of the new campaign.

The Peninsula Stadium will host the final pre-season outing for Jim Goodwin’s side ahead of the 2026/27 William Hill Premiership campaign, which kicks off the following weekend. With the players having returned to training last week, preparations are already well underway as the squad is put through its paces ahead of the new season.

Salford’s quest for promotion ended in play-off heartbreak last campaign and they will be looking to challenge once more this coming season.

The Ammies will revert to their traditional colours of tangerine ahead of the new season, a change from red which has been the primary colour of the club since members of the Class of ’92 first invested in the club in 2014.

The fixture forms part of a packed pre-season schedule for the Terrors, with three behind-closed-doors friendlies taking place before the Premier Sports Cup group stage campaign. The trip to Salford will then bring preparations to a close, providing the Terrors with one final test before the highly anticipated start of the 2026/27 William Hill Premiership season. The varied schedule offers the squad the ideal balance of competitive action and training-ground work as preparations for the new campaign continue.

Ticket information for the trip to Salford will be released over the coming weeks.
