Dundee United FC Women are delighted to announce their first signing of the summer as Alma Codegoni makes her stay permanent, subject to SFA approval.

The attacker spent last season on loan at Foundation Park from Montrose and has agreed to become a fully-fledged United player following her departure from Links Park.

Codegoni made 30 appearances in tangerine last season, missing just two games over the course of the campaign.

Reflecting on her loan spell, the Italian expressed her joy at regaining her confidence back on the pitch and felt that it was a big draw to return permanently.

“I enjoyed my time at Dundee United last season. Everyone made me feel welcome when I first arrived and getting regular game time helped me get my confidence back and enjoy playing football again.”

The side finished their season outside the play-offs. However, Codegoni is eager to get the new season underway as she aims to help the side progress.

“Of course, last season didn’t end how we wanted, but I am excited about next season and I look forward to seeing us getting better as a team and as individuals.”

United kick their season off on 26 July in the Sky Sports Cup, with two closed-door friendlies taking place prior to this.
