Adams Joins Airdrieonians on Loan

Dundee United can today announce that goalkeeper Ruairidh Adams has joined William Hill League One side Airdrieonians on a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year-old heads to the Albert Bartlett Stadium for the 2026/27 campaign looking to build on the valuable senior experience he has already accumulated during previous loan spells.

Having progressed through the club's Academy, Adams has represented Dundee United's B on five occasions and has already made 71 appearances in all, in the William Hill League One across spells with Kelty Hearts, Edinburgh City and, most recently, East Fife.

The Scotland under-21 International will now continue his development under former Dundee United midfielder John Rankin at Airdrieonians.

Manager Jim Goodwin gave his thoughts on Adams' temporary move.

"Ruairidh has worked extremely hard throughout his time at the club and this is another really good opportunity for him to continue his development."

"He's already gained a lot of valuable experience in senior football through his previous loan spells, and we feel playing regularly in League One will be another important step in his progression. John knows the club well and Airdrie will provide him with a good environment to keep improving."
