Attacker Matty Smith, 22, has completed a move to League of Ireland Premier Division side Waterford.
Matty, an Academy Graduate, made his first-team debut towards the end of the 2015/16 season when he started in a 3-3 draw with Partick Thistle. He scored his first goal for the Terrors in a 4-1 League Cup victory over Cowdenbeath in 2017. In total, Matty made 37 appearances for the United first team, scoring five goals.
Sporting Director Tony Asghar said, "Matty has been really unfortunate with injuries and this is a great opportunity for him to go and play regular football. That is what he needs at this stage of his career and we wish him all the best. He is a Dundee United Academy Graduate and will always be welcome back at Tannadice."
