UTILITA TO ENERGISE FRONT OF SHIRTS FOR 2020/21 SEASON

9th July 2020

Utilita – the UK’s leading Smart Pay As You Go Energy supplier – will once again feature on the front of the home and away shirts for the 2020/21 season after the energy giant signed a one-year extension as a principal Club partner. The agreement follows a hugely successful climax to the previous partnership, with United securing the Championship title and a return to the Premiership.

"The team at Utilita are delighted to continue our sponsorship of Dundee United Football Club," Jem Maidment, Chief Marketing Officer of Utilita, said.

“We are honoured that our name will again be on the famous tangerine shirts now United are finally back where they belong – in the Premiership.

“We’ve enjoyed a fantastic relationship with the Club over the past few years and are genuinely excited about the Club’s ambition. Dundee United are a club on the up, and we cannot wait to see Tannadice packed out, sometime very soon.”

Paul Reid, Head of Commercial at Dundee United, said: "Utilita is an excellent match for us. We share similar core values and visions. This partnership is about so much more than merely a name on the shirt. We will look to continue to find innovative and exciting projects to work on together and to promote the excellent work each of us does in our respected fields.

"The increased financial commitment from Utilita endorses the relationship and shows their commitment to what we are trying to achieve as a football club. I thank Utilita for the tremendous backing they continue to show and look forward to another exciting and energetic campaign with them fronting our kits."

Founded back in 2003, Utilita Energy is one of the nation's fastest-growing independent energy suppliers – currently powering more than 800,000 UK customers. It has established itself as a hugely recognisable brand within British football, having supplied power to a number of iconic stadiums – including Ibrox, Selhurst Park and Villa Park – while partnering with over 20 clubs.

Centre to the new partnership will be Utilita’s Energy High 5 movement, which enables every household to use around £163 less energy each year by making five simple and free changes at home. Anyone can sign up to start saving, without being a Utilita customer.
