You will be able to listen to live match commentaries for all of United's SPL fixtures this season in association with the SPL and BBC Scotland.
In a joint venture, live feeds of commentary from BBC Radio Scotland will be streamed live over the internet. You will be able to listen to the matches via a link on the United official web site.
This is a European first in broadcasting, and as far as we are able to discern, is also a first in terms of world sport broadcasting. Certain matches have been broadcast before on the internet, but never on this scale and certainly not at this level.
This is also 'internet-only' broadcasting, which means that the content being produced is available to internet users only, with the exception of the main BBC Sportsound live match, which will be broadcast on radio, in addition to an internet audio stream, as normal.
The BBC will send a commentator to all SPL fixtures on match days (at the weekends and mid-week), who will be required to provide ongoing analysis/commentary of each match. We hope you will all benefit from this new service.
