Dev League: County 3 United 2

14th November 2017

The Young Terrors recovered from going two goals down courtesy of a Logan Chalmers penalty and a Luc Bollan goal at the Highland Academy, Dingwall today, to be denied a draw through a stoppage-time goal by their Ross County counterparts.

The visitors almost drew first blood when only a great save by home keeper Ross Munro kept out Declan Glass’s effort.

But on 18 minutes, the home side went ahead when Ross MacIver netted from Max Ashmore’s assist.

Five minutes later, Reghan Tumilty came back to haunt his former club with a swerving drive from distance to double the lead.

Logan Chalmers then reduced the deficit with half an hour gone, converting a spot-kick after Jordan Hornby had been fouled.

Twice before the interval, United had keeper Josh Donaldson to thank for not going in further behind.

First he kept out a great strike from Dylan Dykes and then denied Greg Morrison who was through one on one on the keeper.

United undoubtedly had the better of the second half and looked to have earned a thoroughly merited point when Jake Davidson flicked on a Hornby free-kick to Luc Bollan who prodded home.

However, it was not to be with MacIver lifting the ball over the diving Donaldson for his second and his side’s late winner.

Even at that, United almost levelled with almost the last kick of the game when substitute Dom Mcmeekin was denied by the keeper blocking his near post effort.

Dundee United: Donaldson, Ritchie, Hornby, Reekie (Dailly 46), Bolan, Davidson, Chalmers, Thomas, Appere, Glass, Taylor (Mcmeekin 70), Sub Not Used: Inglis.
