JIM McLEAN STATUE CAN COLLECTION THIS FRIDAY

28th August 2019

Fans from across the city can donate money towards the Jim McLean Statue Project as the Club hosts a bucket collection ahead of Friday's sold-out fixture at Tannadice.

Jim McLean's impact on Dundee United can't be in doubt, but his first route into the City of Discovery was as a player and coach at Dens Park - where he caught the eye of the United board who then made a move to make him United's Manager.

The hope is that fans of both clubs will donate via the bucket collection as the Jim McLean Tribute Projects looks to achieve the £70,000 target required to complete the target of having the statue in place outside Tannadice Park.

Supporters who miss the game can donate online or use the permanent donation boxes at the Club Shop and Level One of the Tannadice Main reception.

For more information on the Jim McLean Statue project and associated fundraising efforts, please visit the Jim McLean Tribute Group Facebook page.

Meanwhile, the "United in Memories" exhibition featuring the Jim McLean Years continues each Wednesday afternoon from 1pm to 3.30pm until late November 2019. Hosted by Dundee United Business Club volunteers, admission to the guided display is free via the main door at Tannadice although donations for the Jim McLean Statue Fund will be gratefully received.

The Jim McLean Project Fund is delivered under the auspices of Dundee United Community Trust, Charity Registration No: SC039922.

Developed sculptor Alan Herriot, our picture shows the finalised maquette which is the basis for the statue showing Jim on the day he received the Premier trophy.
