ALL THE INFO | MOTHERWELL (H)

27th October 2022

We're back home for Matchday Thirteen of the cinch Premiership as we welcome the Steelmen to Tannadice.

Opponent Lowdown

Motherwell have made an inconsistent start to the 2022/23 campaign, with just one win in their last eight matches in all competitions. However, 'Well have taken maximum points from trips to Paisley, Aberdeen and Dingwall respectively.

Dutch target man Kevin van Veen has bagged ten goals this season, with three of them coming in the aforementioned clash with Ross County.

The reverse fixture unfolded just seven weeks ago when a fabulous penalty stop from Carljohan Eriksson to deny van Veen ensured the Terrors left Lanarkshire with a point - 0-0 the final score.

The Terrors enjoyed a 100% home record against Saturday's opponents throughout the 2021/22 season, claiming three points versus Motherwell on all three occasions on Tayside. Most recently, Dylan Levitt's 37th-minute strike at the end of April was the difference as we all but confirmed a place in the UEFA Conference League Qualifiers with a tightly-contested 1-0 victory.

United head into the match with two wins on the spin at Tannadice, defeating Aberdeen and Hibernian back-to-back at the start of October.

Thoughts From Inside The Camp

Head Coach Liam Fox reiterated our desire to claim victory on Saturday during his weekly press conference with the broadcast media.

"Every week we're looking to take maximum points from the game and it'll be good to be back at home in front of our home supporters.

Fine Margins

"The last two matches have been disappointing but there's not been much in the game. We just need to get the right side of the small margins that we talk about consistently to the players."

Injury Update

He added, "we've also got pretty much a full squad to pick from, aside from Charlie Mulgrew."

Captain Ryan Edwards further emphasised the magnitude of the match whilst on media duty at St. Andrews.

"It's a massive game for both teams - we're looking to close the gap to just a point between ourselves and Motherwell.

Propelling Ourselves Up The Table

We've been good at home recently and we want to keep that positive run of results going and propel ourselves up the table."

Ryan continued, "We can certainly go into the break in a better position than the one we're in now. It's a good opportunity for us to get more points on the board. Then we can come back, ready to hit the ground running.

Solid Game Plan

"We have to be going in with a solid game plan and not surrendering easy chances.

"Our home form of late has been really good against strong sides, but ultimately, it'll be another tough game."
