Dundee United midfielder Craig Sibbald spoke to the broadcast media to preview our William Hill Premiership clash with Rangers on Matchday 37.

Our number 14 emphasised keeping destiny in our own hands, reaffirmed the squad’s confidence despite recent results, reflected on a difficult spell on the sidelines and expressed his gratitude to the Tangerine Army for their unwavering support throughout the campaign.

ON EUROPEAN EXPLOITS REMAINING IN OUR HANDS

Exactly that. We’re disappointed with the result, but like you said, it's in our hands and we're sitting in a good position in the table. So we just need to learn from our mistakes and try and cut them out them at Ibrox on Wednesday to make sure we can try and get three points.

They're obviously doing well at the moment, with a good result yesterday and they'll be confident going into the game against us. We'll need to be prepared for that and I'm sure the Gaffer will have a game plan ready for us to go and win the game.

We won't be thinking about them, we’re thinking about ourselves.

ON THE SQUAD’S CONFIDENCE REMAINING HIGH

The boys are all confident. We've had a wee blip recently, but every game's tough in the top six and we've been doing really well up until that.

All in all, I think we've had a really good season and we can be proud of where we are now - not many teams who have been promoted from the Championship have made into the top six straight away.

Unfortunately, we’ve not had a good start to the top six games, but who's to say we can't finish on a high and get maximum points out of the next two games?

We just need remain confident and keep believing that we can get something. It's down to us now and we want to finish the season on a high.

ON RETURNING TO THE FOLD AFTER BATTLING WITH INJURY ISSUES

It's been an up and down season, but I've got myself back in the team and I'm feeling fit again - it’s been good to get back out there and I just want to keep playing as the season comes to an end.

It was enjoyable watching it from the sidelines when I was injured, the boys have did well and put us in a great position. I'm a bit fresher than the rest of the boys might be because I missed a chunk of the season, so I'm raring to go and hopefully I can help out the next two games.

It's important to keep that morale going so you've got a good end to the season for the players that you’ve spent the season with. It's a close-knit team anyway - we’re all right together until the final game.

ON GIVING THE SUPPORTERS AS POSITIVE END TO THE SEASON

The fans have been brilliant with us this season so hopefully we can give them something to shout about. They deserve it after staying behind us through the ups and downs so we’re desperate to finish on a high.
