UNITED 0 - 0 DUNDEE

31st August 2002

Dundee United and Dundee played out a 0-0 draw in the Bank of Scotland Premier League at Tannadice this afternoon. Following the torrential rain of yesterday, the setting was superb with the sun shining brightly on an almost capacity stadium.

Dundee on balance had the better of the first half but there was little to chose between the sides with the action end-to-end. Charlie Miller (pictured) was the outstanding United player dominating most of the positive Tangerines' moves but Dundee always looked quicker on the break and, as the first half wore on, they looked the likelier to break the deadline.

Half time score: United 0 - Dundee 0

Dundee picked up from where they had left off before the interval but United gradually came more and more into the match and, despite Allan Smart being red-carded, Alex Smith's side kept the ball forward, continually putting the visitors under pressure for much of the second period. In the end, a draw was a fair result, however, it was not good enough to stop United slipping to the foot of the table with Hibernian picking up three points at Motherwell.
