UNITED HEAD FOR KILMARNOCK

2nd November 2002

United travel to Rugby Park today for their first Bank of Scotland premierleague visit to Kilmarnock this season. Siting at the foot of the league table with only one point taken from their previous five league matches, that single gain being taken last Saturday at home to Partick Thistle, the Tangerines need to take something today to avoid the possibility of becoming detached from most other clubs in the SPL, especially with 11th placed Jags being at home to 10th placed Motherwell today.

United have not defeated Killie in eighteen matches although they arguably passed up a superb opportunity in their Tannadice match earlier this season against Jim Jefferies side when Steven Thompson put the Tangerines ahead with twenty minutes left only for the visitors to snatch the three points with two late goals.

Danny Griffin remains out although Mark Wilson should be fit. The match kicks off at 3pm and is pay at the gate.
