Rangers have agreed a deal to sign Steven Thompson from Dundee United. The Scotland international striker will complete the formalities of his move to Ibrox when the transfer window opens on New Years Day. The 24 year old has signed a three and a half year deal with the Glasgow club.
Thompson made 97 starts for United plus he came on from the bench another 66 times. The Paisley born striker scored 32 goals for the Tangerines, top scoring last season and was also top scorer to date this campaign with nine goals.
