In an intense derby match at Tannadice this afternoon, United drew 1-1 with city rivals Dundee. The match was live on BBC but still attracted over 10,000 supporters with United selling all but five hundred of their allocation. Neither Andy Tod or Danielle Chiarini made it to the first eleven, both having to settle for places on the bench.

United started off well and took the lead in the 19th minute through an own goal by Mackay. The visitors then began to come back into the match and it came as no real surprise when Dundee equalised with a goal through Nacho Novo on the half hour mark. Dundee continued to look the more impresive side but United went in at the break level.
HALF TIME: UNITED 1 DUNDEE 1
Both sides had chances to win the match in the second half and when Charlie Miller was sent off with twenty minutes remaining, the odds slightly favoured Jim Duffy's side. There was however no further scoring and the match finished all square, a result that leaves United still at the foot of the SPL.
