UNDER-21s LOSE TO HIBS

8th April 2003

The Under-21s were in Edinburgh to face Hibs and could have gone ahead early, but Allan Smart saw his effort come off the post. It was the home who then took the lead through Reid and they then went further ahead with goals from Byle and Reid again, before Aaron Conway managed to get his head to a Paul Allum cross to pull one back. Just before half time Hibs made it 4-1 with Reid achieving the hat trick.

There was much less action in the second half with Paul Allum just firing wide for United. Hibs were reduced to 10 men when Dempsie was ordered off with 15 minutes left but still they controlled the game. Allan Smart again hit the post near the end, and the last action of the game saw his free kick saved.
